The tragic story of the 13-year-old lad who may be a father of a child born to a 15 year old girl is creating huge media interest, but don’t be fooled into thinking they will make a lot of money out of this unfortunate saga.

Newspapers will be wary of paying people to gain from this situation, particularly in view of the way Alfie’s parents have behaved since the story hit the headlines… devil masks do not give you the feeling that you are dealing with serious, responsible people.

I hope their publicist Max Clifford directs any money to getting them professional help - a nanny or maternity nurse would be a start - so at least the child parents can start looking after their daughter with some expert help.

Blowing the cash on themselves will lead to a backlash in my experience - from the neighbours, from the media and potentially the social services, who have been conspicuous by their absence.
